Based near Tampa, Florida, Paradise Golden Retrievers is an American Kennel Club (AKC)-inspected dog breeding facility.
Owner Melissa Coleman began the breeding operation in 2005 after retiring from a 25-year career as a special education teacher. She utilizes selective breeding practices and English Golden Retriever lines in her program to produce two to four litters of puppies annually. Each dog bred at Paradise Golden Retrievers meets or exceeds AKC guidelines. Since the inception of the breeding program, no puppies or adult dogs have been returned because of health complications. The instance of health issues with puppies has been less than 1%.
The puppies bred in the program are gentle, obedient, and affectionate. All puppies are carefully socialized with children, dogs, and cats during the first 8 weeks of their life to prepare them for life with their new owners. Before moving to their new homes, they are dewormed twice, receive a veterinary assessment, and are issued a state health certificate.
